SHD Licence: 2PS30596In my opinion, the Rolex Yacht-Master 126622 with the rhodium dial and blue seconds hand is one of the most underrated modern Rolex sports watches.
Some watches photograph beautifully. Others simply don’t. The Yacht-Master falls firmly into the second category. It is a watch that has to be seen in person to truly appreciate just how special it is. The way the light plays across the sunburst rhodium dial, contrasted by the vivid blue seconds hand and the polished platinum bezel, creates a level of refinement that photographs rarely capture.
Rolex got the design absolutely right.
Unlike the more overtly utilitarian Submariner, the Yacht-Master blends sport and luxury effortlessly. It has all the robustness you would expect from a Rolex sports model, yet it carries a sophistication that makes it equally at home with a suit in the office as it is with a polo shirt on the weekend or a jacket in the evening.
What makes this watch even more compelling is the value it represents. You’re getting a solid platinum bezel paired with Rolex’s superb Oystersteel case and bracelet, yet these often trade for similar money—or sometimes even less—than a Submariner. When you consider the precious metal content, the finishing and the versatility, it is one of the best-value modern Rolex sports watches available today.
